DESCRIPTION :

Terms of Reference (ToR) for a Civil Engineer

1. Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.

2. Monitor progress, budget, and schedule to ensure timely delivery of projects.

3. Coordinate with contractors, architects, consultants, and local authorities.

4. Prepare technical reports, BoQs, cost estimates, and materials specifications.

5. Ensure quality assurance and control throughout the project lifecycle.

6. Address and resolve engineering problems during construction phases.

7. Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards.

8. Maintain documentation and ensure proper project archiving.

9. Liaise with procurement teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment.

10. Prepare and review work schedules, manpower requirements, and resource allocation plans.

11 . Assist in preparing contract documents, including specifications, drawings, and bill of quantities.

12. Support in preparing and responding to technical queries from contractors and stakeholders.

13. Participate in site meetings, inspections, and coordination activities with clients.

14. Evaluate contractor performance and recommend corrective actions when necessary.

15. Stay updated onthe  latest engineering trends, technologies, and best practices in the construction industry.
